Hunters in the Snow By Tobias Wolff

Were the characters actions believable? Why or why not?

I don't think the characters actions were very believable because it seemed like the author over reacted everything. It's not realistic that someone would shoot a farmers dog without telling his friends that the farmer had asked him to. It's also unbelievable that you would shoot your friend in the stomach even if he was going a little crazy with a gun. You might shoot him in the arm, but the arm could be deadly.

How is the setting meaningful in this story? Explain.

I think the setting in this story is very important because if it was pouring rain they might have spent the night in that inn due to the fact that Kenny probably couldn't  have survived in that weather. If they were in the desert, in the middle of summer, Tub wouldn't have lagged behind so much or have had so much trouble getting over the fences. He also wouldn't have been so mad at Kenny and Frank.
